Applications for Gulbenkian New Talents Scholarships 2025 open in September
In 2024, 14 students from the University of Coimbra received these scholarships.
Applications for the 2025 edition of the Gulbenkian New Talents Scholarships, aimed at higher education students, will be open from 1 to 30 September.
The scholarships are designed to identify and support exceptionally talented students, encouraging their early engagement with research. They are available in the core scientific fields of biology, geology, physics, mathematics, and chemistry, as well as across the humanities—including the arts—and the social sciences
Applicants must have a minimum grade average of 16.5 (out of 20). Each scholarship may be worth up to €3,500.
In addition to financial support, selected students will participate in an immersive talent development programme, which includes two weekend science retreats, one-on-one academic mentoring by a distinguished university professor, and guidance from a Scientific Committee.
