The event “Meet Our Job: Alternatives to a Scientific Research Career” will take place on 3 June, at 9:15 am, at the Subunit 3 Auditorium, UC Campus III.

The initiative aims to encourage discussion and offer new perspectives on career development, responding to a growing need within the Portuguese scientific community to explore professional pathways beyond academic research.

The programme includes talks, speed-dating sessions and a roundtable discussion, providing valuable opportunities for direct engagement and the sharing of experiences.

Meet Our Job is open to members of the University of Coimbra’s health sciences community and is organised by the Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CiBB) and the UC Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC-UC). Attendance is free, but registration is required by 27 May here.

The event organisers, postdoctoral researcher representatives from CiBB, highlight that, "at a time when the scientific landscape in Portugal faces significant challenges, it is crucial to explore and promote alternative career paths to the precarious nature of scientific research in academia".
