The University of Coimbra celebrates World Food Day with a lecture series on "Nutrition and Health for a healthier life".

Ten talks on food, sustainability and health will be held from 14-18 October. The sessions will take place online every day between 18:00 and 19:00.
The initiative is organised by the Centre of Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) and the Institute of Clinical and Biomedical Research of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (iCBR-FMUC), in collaboration with several national institutions.

Established by the United Nations, World Food Day is celebrated on 16 October to mark the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organizsation. Its main objective is to promote universal access to quality food for a healthy and active life.

Each year, World Food Day focuses on a specific theme related to food and nutrition, encouraging individuals, communities and governments to take action to end hunger and promote healthy diets. This year's theme is “Right to food for a better life and future”'.
