UC Institute for Interdisciplinary Research celebrates its 24th anniversary

The event, to be held on 20th May at Casa Costa Alemão, kicks off the celebrations for the IIIUC's 24+1 years, reflecting on the past, present and future.

With the theme 'Research in Perpetual Motion', the event is organised by the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of the University of Coimbra (IIIUC) to celebrate its 24th anniversary and is taking place from 2:30 p.m. at Casa Costa Alemão (Campus II).

The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the past, present, and future of the Institute and of interdisciplinary research in Portugal, marking the beginning of the IIIUC’s 24+1 anniversary celebrations.

In addition to the opening and closing remarks by João Ramalho Santos (UC Vice-Rector for Research and IIIUC Director) at 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., respectively, the event will feature contributions from Fernando Seabra Santos (Rector Emeritus of the University of Coimbra) and Maria Paula Serra de Oliveira (the Institute’s first Director, from 2001 to 2003).

An interdisciplinary debate will also be held with UC researchers and lecturers Luca Dimuccio, Ana Paula Piedade, Fernando Guerra, Cláudia Fragão Pereira, Catarina Miranda, and João Gomes, alongside António Gomes Martins (UC Vice-Rector for Research from 2003 to 2011 and IIIUC Director from 2009 to 2011).
