UC International Staff Training Week encouraged the exchange of knowledge and practices on sustainability and internationalisation
The initiative served as an opportunity to strengthen international collaboration networks and to share experiences and strategies that support higher education institutions in promoting a more sustainable future.
The University of Coimbra hosted the International Staff Training Week from 7 to 11 April, under the theme Building a Sustainable Future. Organised by the International Relations Unit, the event brought together representatives from nine European universities and two non-EU partner institutions.
Over five days, participants shared knowledge and best practices on sustainability and internationalisation in higher education. Sessions focused on sustainable lifestyles, the integration of sustainability into university operations, and the intersection between environmental responsibility and international cooperation.
The main topics included the need to integrate these practices into everyday university life, along with the challenges and solutions involved in implementing sustainable policies within academic environments.
The initiative reinforced UC’s commitment to sustainability education and to fostering a global network of higher education institutions working together towards a more sustainable future.
