The University of Coimbra (UC), through UC Business - Technology Transfer Division, is promoting the UC Proof of Concept by Santander Foundation, which aims to identify and support the valorisation of inventions with promising results and innovation potential, that require validation or proof of concept to advance along the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) scale.

The competition aims to fund five projects that meet the criteria outlined in the regulations, with prizes worth €20,000 in technical and logistical support (including the purchase of goods and services, equipment, and software).

This proof of concept competition aims to advance the technological maturity of inventions, bringing them closer to market readiness.

All teachers, researchers, and entrepreneurs conducting research at the UC, with inventions that have already been patented or submitted for patenting, can apply for this competition, either individually or as a team.

The UC Proof of Concept by Santander Foundation Competition will allow the UC to strategically position itself in the market by strengthening its collaboration with industry, particularly through partnerships and direct technology licensing, and contribute to the potential creation of academic spin-offs that directly exploit these inventions.

Those interested should fill in the application form, available until 22 November, here.
