UC to host seminar on new challenges in law and justice in partnership with Brazilian Magistrates Association
Taking place on 5 and 6 June, the event will bring together Portuguese and Brazilian academics and judges to discuss the latest challenges facing law and justice on both sides of the Atlantic.
On Thursday and Friday (5 and 6 June), Coimbra will host the seminar “Novos Desafios do Direito e da Justiça” (New Challenges for Law and Justice), co-organised by the University of Coimbra (UC) and the Brazilian Magistrates Association (AMB), with support from the Trade Union of Portuguese Judges (ASJP).
The event will bring together Portuguese and Brazilian academics and magistrates to debate emerging challenges in law and justice on both sides of the Atlantic. It will take place on Thursday in the Auditorium of Colégio da Trindade, and on Friday at the Court of Appeal (Tribunal da Relação) of Coimbra.
The opening session will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday and will include speeches by João Nuno Calvão da Silva, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Alumni at the University of Coimbra; Frederico Mendes Júnior, President of the AMB; and Nuno Matos, President of the ASJP.
